Purple Leaf 10x12 bronze
$177 cheaper, 1-year warranty, higher score
Purple Leaf's entry model: 10 x 12 ft, all aluminum on a 4.5 in frame, handle-operated louvers and a bronze finish. It gets the brand's buyer reviews at a price close to the steel kits.
Best for: A first louvered pergola on a sheltered patio in a mild climate
Purple Leaf 94AS 10x12
$299 more
Purple Leaf's 94AS line stands 94.3 in tall on 5.12 in beams, all aluminum, with two louver zones that open to 90 degrees. Rain runs off the louvers into gutters and down through the four posts. At 10 x 12 ft it covers a table for six.
Best for: A dining patio where you want headroom and an all-aluminum frame from a well-reviewed brand
Domi 10x13 aluminum frame, white
$300 cheaper, 10 sq ft more shade, aluminum frame, steel louvers
A 4 in aluminum frame with galvanized steel louvers, 10 x 13 ft, crank-operated, in white. The frame will not rust, the louvers can where the coating gets scratched. The buyer rating is the lowest of Domi's models.
Best for: A buyer who wants a white aluminum frame for under $1,500
Purple Leaf 10x12 white solar LED
$599 more, 1-year warranty, higher score
10 x 12 ft, all aluminum, white, with a solar LED strip and a single louver zone that opens to 85 degrees. The listing claims a 2,000 lb snow load. That is a total for the whole roof, about 17 psf over 120 sq ft, so we do not score it as a snow rating.
Best for: A small white patio used on summer evenings
Mirador 80S 10x12
about the same price, all steel
The same steel 80S frame in 10 x 12 ft, 94.8 in tall and 485 lb. Like the 10 x 10 it has no drainage and a sling for the louvers, and it costs much more per square foot.
Best for: A Mirador fan on a budget who does not need drainage
